Mission Statement: The Transit Departments mission is to provide safe, reliable, cost-effective, and accessible transportation to all residents of Huerfano and Las Animas, with special attention to individuals who cannot access or afford other transportation alternatives.
COG Transit has provided rural public transit services since 1975. The service operates from 6Am to 6PM on weekdays. Service is demand-responsive and flex service. The demand responsive service is door-to door and changes daily, depending on demand. The flex-service travels a constant route (with flag stops), but does deviate up to 3/4 of a mile for persons with disabilities. Las Animas and Huerfano counties are primary service area for its demand responsive public transit service. Service is also available to and from Pueblo. Please call for fare rates. Contact RIDELINE to apply for reduced fare rides. COG Transit travels approximately 91,860 annual vehicle-miles and runs 9,600 annual vehicle-hours. The fleet consists of 12 vehicles (10 wheelchair accessible light transit vehicles and 2 vans). COG Transit public transit service is open to the general public.
Everyone is eligible to ride the system.
Trips to Wal-Mart are provided within Trinidad. We pick up riders at 10:30 to drop-off at Wal-Mart and return for pick-up at 12:30.
In addition to public transportation, we offer assistance to clients with special needs. Whether its wheelchair accessibility or special attention, we will do our best to accommodate you. We are authorized to provide transportation to qualified Medicaid recipients to authorized medical appointments.
